Safe cleanup
Review every target before an approval-bound cleanup.
The dangerous part of a memory cleaner is not the list. It is what happens when the list is wrong. RamBeacon separates candidate selection from action and requires a preview bound to the identities being changed.
Smart Cleanup combines preset priorities, exclusion rules and the deterministic protection policy. Protected and review-required processes are not silently included, and group cleanup only touches standard candidates.
Approval is a contract, not a checkbox
The preview shows targets, warnings and expected outcome. Approving it creates a single-use token bound to the operation and process identities, valid for a short window. The Rust backend revalidates everything immediately before acting.
A stale row, changed process or reused PID is rejected. The webview cannot manufacture an approval or skip the second confirmation required for force termination.
What RamBeacon will not do
It does not terminate processes because memory pressure crossed a threshold, because a preset recommends it, because a notification fired, or because an AI response suggested it. The assistant can only propose a graceful close, which still enters the same approval flow.
Cleanup history records per-target outcomes and before/after observations. It does not claim that closing a process recovered a guaranteed amount of RAM.
Closing an app can discard unsaved work. The warning is real, and approval remains your decision.
